For the next in my occasional series about places to get married in Dorset, it’s just a quick trip a couple of miles down the road. Welcome to my latest wedding venue review – Hotel du Vin Poole.
The Hotel du Vin’s a lovely period hotel set amongst the Old Town of Poole. It was originally built in 1776 as the Mansion House, a name that it kept until a few years ago. The Hotel du Vin Group have lovingly restored and refurbished the hotel in a style that’s in keeping with its nautical history. The original stone stairs and neo-classical columns are the first thing you see when entering. Low beams in the Snug are complemented by a roaring log fire in the Winter – ideal to fight off those chills from your December wedding.
The hotel has two private rooms, and can accommodate between 18 and 32 people. With the Bistro accommodating up to 90 guests for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast this boutique venue is ideally suited to the more intimate wedding. You can even book the hotel for exclusive use.
I’ve photographed several weddings at the Hotel du Vin and am delighted to be a recommended photographer for them.
If you’re interested to find out more about this boutique Poole venue, check out their wedding section on the Hotel du Vin website.
