Furlong Wedding Fayre, Ringwood
People tend to think that wedding photographers do nothing except shoot weddings – I sometimes wish this was the case! As with any business, there’s marketing and loads of admin to be done. But although running the business is a priority, it’s also important to take time out, especially during the Winter months. In the Summer, when the rest of the country’s enjoying days out at the seaside with family, wedding photographers will most likely either be shooting or editing a wedding! So before the wedding season really kicks off it’s nice to spend a little time at weekends with family, and just relaxing.
Last weekend I nipped along to the Furlong Wedding Fayre, in Ringwood. I knew that a few of my recommended suppliers would be there so it was a good excuse to have a chat and take a look around.
Traditionally wedding fayres are held either at venues or in large arenas, like sports halls. Ringwood’s a market town, quite vibrant and really busy on a Saturday or Market Day. As well as the busy High Street there’s a more modern area, called the Furlong. This is where the open-air wedding fayre was held.
Thankfully, the day was dry! True, a little breezy and chilly, but the weather behaved.
Because I was “off-duty” I wasn’t loaded down with loads of camera gear. Just my normal “carry-round” camera of choice, the stunning little Fuji X100. It’s small, lightweight and really unobtrusive – just what I need on my day off! 🙂
RR Elite had their stunning 1937 Sedanca de Ville on display, gleaming after hours of polishing!
Dorset Dubhire were proudly displaying Lilah, their 1965 Beetle – check out that plate underneath the radio on the dashboard. It’s true …. this is a Beetle with a difference! 🙂
Arcade Flowers were, as usual, topical with their lovely displays.
