Venice wedding fashion shoot

Although my style of wedding photography is predominantly documentary, it doesn’t mean that I can’t mix it up a bit!

Last year I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with one of the world’s top 10 wedding photographers. Yervant is known for his style, and Brides travel from all over the world to be photographed by him.

As Yervant says – “I am a Portrait Photographer, Fashion Photographer, Commercial Photographer, Landscape Photographer – all within any five minutes of a wedding day. No Stylists, no tests, no re-do’s, shoot and get it right frame after frame!”

The most important thing about wedding photography

The emotions and the people are the most important part of the wedding day. The details are nice, but it’s people that count. That’s why I believe that couples should have beautiful photographs of themselves. Not “high fashion” poses that look unreal and make them feel uncomfortable, but images that show how great they look. And, most importantly, how great they feel!

Take this image as an example. OK, I admit I have a stunning model and a fabulous location here! But the principle of the image is very simple. A Bride in her dress, smiling and enjoying her day. It’s the photographer’s ability to connect with the couple, communicate their ideas and make sure that the couple are comfortable. That’s the key.

It’s the most important day of your life, so you should enjoy it! 🙂
