I make no apologies for sharing another image from Rushmi and Dean’s wedding as part of my occasional series, “I love this picture”. This one shows the bond between Brother and Sister.
The other week I posted an image of Rushmi sitting in the wedding car. Looking at her family as she left the wedding. You can see the post here
Today’s image was photographed just a minute or two later. Shot through the driver’s window of the wedding car, it shows Dean’s Sister saying goodbye to her Brother. As I’ve often said, weddings are about emotions. Not “just” the Bride and Groom’s, but members of the family, plus the couple’s friends.
Why have I included this image? Because to me it shows the very special bond that exists between siblings. A moment of tenderness. Hope for her Brother’s happiness in his new life? Perhaps thinking back to their childhood? A memory flashing into her mind? Perhaps even sadness? Who knows? Certainly not me. But the photograph creates the basis for a narrative, where you can build a story around it.
Tender moments like these are what I aim to capture with my style of documentary photography.
I love this image, and I hope that you love it too.
