As they celebrate their first anniversary, a chance to look back on Tash and Will’s stunning Northbrook Park wedding day.
This was a day long in the making. Tash told me that I was going to be photographing her wedding – nothing unusual in that, but it was before Will had actually proposed to her! In fact, quite a while before he proposed! I knew Tash well from her time working at Beach Weddings Bournemouth, so there was no “getting to know you” phase in this client/photographer relationship!
And so it was that early on a sunny Saturday morning last September I made my way up the M3 and then off across the countryside to Northbrook Park in Surrey. Northbrook Park’s a fabulous wedding venue set amongst 120 acres of stunning countryside, a privately owned Grade II listed, eighteenth-century manor house. If you’ve ever thought about having a country estate wedding then you should definitely consider Northbrook Park in your deliberations.
Now, it has to be said that the venue is just one of the elements that contribute to the success of the wedding day. The weather’s obviously important, but so are the suppliers. For Will and Tash’s day I was lucky to be working with my “dream team”, people who I’ve worked with on numerous occasions. People who I know well, get on with and trust implicitly.
As I pulled into Northbrook Park’s stunning grounds and up towards the main house the first person I saw was Simon, our videographer for the day. After a bit of our usual banter he mentioned that the bacon butties were almost ready – Will and his family were getting their priorities right in one of the guest cottages! So what could I do – it would have been rude to refuse, wouldn’t it? The girls were next door, being pampered by Laura and Tara. Melanie was in the The Vine Room, getting the ceremony room prepared as Emma’s team arranged the floral displays. Lisa’s cake was tucked out of the way, safely stored in preparation for the wedding breakfast.
Will and the boys were definitely chilled out, and so were the girls – it was a great atmosphere as I went to and fro between the cottages. Smiles, laughter – great fun.
The Vine Room looked stunning, with its marble floors, crystal chandeliers setting the scene and the tall, elegant French windows letting in loads of natural light. Outside in the immaculate grounds, peacocks wandered around, strutting their stuff! Before we knew it, guests were arriving for the day and it was time to switch from the Bridal prep to more formal elements of the wedding day. During the drinks reception Katie sang as the guests enjoyed the early Autumn sunshine in the beautifully manicured grounds.
I could go on for ages about the ceremony, the reception and the partying, but let’s just say that this was an absolutely fabulous day with a lovely couple – thanks for allowing me to be a part of it.
Thanks also to my “dream team” of suppliers:
