Over the past few days, the RNLI has received a lot of publicity - mostly supportive of the fantastic work that they do. The volunteer crews do an amazing job, both offshore and inshore, in all weathers.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing another wedding at the RNLI College in Poole, where crews undergo mandatory training. Over the years I've photographed quite a few weddings there of couples who support the RNLI's work, but last weekend's wedding was a first .... a member of a lifeboat crew.
Simon and Claire came down from Essex for their wedding, accompanied by family and friends. Their wedding date had to be changed because of COVID, but they were philosophical and waited until the time was right.
I can't share any of their images from the day yet, but here are some of the RNLI College itself, plus one of the lifeboats that was on trials when we walked along Poole Quay yesterday afternoon. The College has striking architecture, unlike anything else in Poole, and it's definitely a landmark building.
