The Poole wedding of Emma-Jayne and Rob was one year ago today, so it seems appropriate to remember their wonderful day and share a few images.
Emma-Jayne and Rob asked me to photograph their wedding whilst they were dressed in bridal wear! It was at the Beach Weddings Bournemouth Open Weekend in April 2012, and I was taking photographs on behalf of BWB for their launch. They were delightful to work with on the shoot and I knew we’d have a great time on their actual wedding day!
As we know, the weather last Summer wasn’t, well, exactly brilliant and their day dawned a little gloomy. The forecast was for showers, but that didn’t seem to dampen the spirits of the girls as I arrived in Canford Cliffs to shoot the bridal prep at the hair salon. On the contrary, they were really relaxed and we had lots of fun as covered the hair and make-up.
When I arrived at the Church Rob was already there with his Ushers and there were a few kilts starting to make an appearance, which gives you a clue as to what was coming. In fact, there were lots of kilts, because they’d organised a pipe band, and the bridal party was piped into the Ceremony. Emma-Jayne looked stunning as her Father escorted her down the Aisle.
After the formalities of the Ceremony it was a short trip up the road to The Italian Villa at Compton Acres, one of my favourite wedding venues in Dorset. With the pipe band playing in the Italianate Garden it was a delightful reception, even though rain interrupted things slightly!
Emma-Jayne and Rob are a delightful couple, and it was so easy working with them as we shot some personal images in the Gardens away from the hubbub of the reception.
It was a fantastic day and everyone had a brilliant time, so, one year on, I wish you both the very best for the future, and thanks for letting me be a part of your special day x
