The New Forest wedding of Sarah and Joe
I first met Sarah and Joe in 2013 when I visited their home to talk about wedding photography. It wasn’t long until the unique nature of their wedding day became apparent – steam engines and a funfair! Now, don’t get me wrong – all weddings are unique. It’s just that some are, well, different to normal. As steam enthusiasts, they were determined to have steam engines as part of their special day. So come on, you have to admit that’s unusual – don’t you?
We got together in the Spring of 2014 for their engagement shoot – such a great way to get used to being photographed. The shoot was done in their woodland and, in a taste of things to come, involved a vintage tractor!
Steam engines and a funfair!
Driving through the New Forest on the morning of their wedding I was getting really excited. After all, there can’t be many photographers who’ve had steam engines at a wedding!
The house was busy when I arrived for the Bridal prep. Hair and make-up for the ladies, with just the odd glass of something bubbly to calm the nerves! Lots of laughter and lots of fun. Oh, and a few tears as well. This is what the preparations for the wedding should be like!
