Food envy
Updated: Jan 1

Looking back through some photos before COVID took hold in Europe, and I found a few from a cafe in Bruges. The chefs were making macarons by a window open to the street. Obviously it was a really good marketing ploy, as they were really busy serving them both in the cafe and for takeaway! It was fascinating to watch the chefs in action and these young boys were fixated on the meringues as they were being transformed. The cafe have frosted glass in the upper half of the window to minimise distractions for the chefs from the passers-by. The reflection of the smaller boy adds, to my eye, an extra dimension to the photograph.
