I know time passes quickly these days, but it hardly seems possible that a year’s passed since I photographed Danielle and Mike’s lovely wedding in Portal Nous, Mallorca!
I met up with Danielle and Mike early last year and they asked if I’d be prepared to fly to the Med in the September and shoot their wedding … well, obviously I had to think long and hard about it! Or did I? 🙂
As we know, last Summer wasn’t exactly the best on record, and when I left Hurn Airport in Bournemouth it was overcast and cool. Just a couple of hours later we landed in Palma, Mallorca and stepped out into sunshine and 30+ degrees … aah, warmth at last! The wedding was set for the afternoon of the day after I arrived, so I took the opportunity early in the morning to check out the Church and possible locations for shots. Then it was back to the hotel to freshen up and shoot the bridal prep with Danielle and her Bridesmaids. A lovely intimate ceremony was followed by a beautiful buffet laid out underneath the pine trees and looking out across the Med … absolutely perfect. Whilst the Bridal party went off to celebrate at a show I took the opportunity to sort out my kit back at the hotel and then joined them all in the evening on a private beach for a party. Who said that wedding photographers have a tough life? Oh, me! 🙂
Happy Anniversary Danielle and Mike – thanks for letting me part of such a special day, and I wish you all the best for the future. xx
On a footnote, one of the Bridesmaids, Gina, subsequently asked me to photograph her wedding and I had the pleasure of shooting her ceremony and reception at the RNLI Lifeboat College in Poole just a few days ago. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t quite as nice as it was in the Med a year ago, but everyone had a year ago and it was lovely to catch up again with Danielle and Mike, who’d flown over for the ceremony.
If you’re considering getting married abroad (or indeed nearer to home!) then please get in touch for a chat about how I might be able to help you on your special day.
