Cafe Shore wedding photographer – the love of a Father
For this week’s selection of “Image of the week“, I’ve chosen a photograph from Paula and Dan’s lovely wedding at Sandbanks in Poole … it’s entitled Cafe Shore wedding photographer – the love of a Father.
Anyway, Sandbanks is one of Paula and Dan’s favourite places, so it was no surprise when they asked if I’d shoot their engagement photographs there as well. We finished their session up on Evening Hill, a local beauty spot that looks out across the expanse of Poole Harbour towards Brownsea Island and the Isle of Purbeck beyond.
As it was a Winter wedding, the opportunities for shooting outside on their wedding day were limited – in fact, pretty much non-existant because of the weather. That said, we did manage to get a few shots of them on the terrace overlooking the harbour, so that was a bit of a bonus. Obviously the light levels dropped pretty quickly during the afternoon, and, nice as the venue is, the lighting’s not exactly “photographer-friendly”! As always, I was keeping my eyes open after the wedding breakfast for opportunities. Guests relaxing and enjoying themselves, sharing stories and jokes. Family members huddling up and talking about how they’ve enjoyed the day. Then, from the corner of my eye I spotted Dan over by the window with their young daughter. A bit of bounce flash and just one chance for a shot, capturing the little girl’s expression as she looked out across Poole Harbour. Keeping an eye on her, and protecting her, is Dan. Here you have it – the love of a Father.
