Now there’s a slightly different angle for this particular image of the week!
Many wedding photographers have encountered problems with guests getting in their way when taking shots, or vieing for the couple’s attention. However, unless they’re photographing a celebrity it’s unlikely they’ll have had to deal with Fleet Street muscling in on their day!
This was the scene last year after I’d photographed the first ever wedding on Bournemouth beach with Melanie and her lovely team from Beach Weddings Bournemouth. ITV’s Daybreak programme ran a competition for couples who wanted that very first, special wedding and who were prepared to get married in front of the TV cameras.
Kate and Frazer were the fabulous couple who won the competition, and I had to start shooting the Bridal prep really early on the morning of the wedding. 5am! This was because the wedding was going to be broadcast live on ITV just after 8am. Now normally at a wedding I can move pretty much where I like (within reason of course). However, on this particular day I was restricted because of camera and lighting positions, so I had a very restricted place from which to shoot.
Once the ceremony was over it was time to let in the Press, and this is a shot back up the aisle. For camera geeks I make the score Nikon 2 – Canon 2, so that’s a draw! 🙂
