Bournemouth wedding photographer – image of the week 27
Probably the last Blog post before Christmas, and the penultimate for the year perhaps? Just where has 2013 gone to? It’s been an amazing year, with so many lovely couples.
Anyway, a look back to the engagement shoot at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset, when I joined Stevie and Byron down on the beach for a bit of fun!
Stevie and Byron met whilst at school, and remained sweethearts ever since and I was delighted when they asked if I’d photograph their wedding in Bournemouth. We arranged an engagement photo-shoot at Highcliffe Castle because it’s one of their favourite spots. On the day itself we were blessed with lovely weather – a bit of light cloud cover for when we were shooting at the Castle, and then some lovely warm sunshine when we moved to the beach. The Castle’s a great wedding venue, and from a photographer’s point of view it’s ideal. There are plenty of places to shoot (at any time of day) and such a variety of backdrops. You’ve got gardens, woods, lots of different textures in the walls of the Castle – in fact, it’s almost ideal! During the actual wedding ceremony in the Wintergarden daylight floods in, making it possible to get some absolutely beautiful shots of the couple taking their vows. But I digress …..
After spending some time at the Castle we wandered down to the beach. I got Steve and Byron to walk, hand-in-hand, along the shoreline, getting some lovely shots. As you can see, the groynes have been built up quite high in an attempt to stabilie the beach and prevent erosion and this gave me an idea …
Now, not every couple are happy with jumping off a groyne, but Stevie and Byron were up for it. The smiles on their faces show that they were enjoying themselves and that’s what engagement shoots are about. Having fun, relaxing and getting used to being photographed before “the big day”.
