Bournemouth wedding photographer – image of the week 24.
It seems hard to believe that in less than a month it’ll be Christmas, and the year seems to have flown by so quickly! Anyway, another reminder of brighter days with this week’s image, from Tiffany and George’s fabulous ceremony with Beach Weddings Bournemouth last year.
This just happens to be one of my all-time, favourite wedding photographs. Tiffany and George chose a really relaxed theme for the wedding on the beach. They didn’t want much formality, with no “group” photos. Instead they asked for images that reflected the feeling of their special day. Tiffany looked stunning in a simple yet elegant silk dress, and George was dressed casually. The combination of styles worked really well, and it was evident from the start that this couple were very much in love.
Nerves often appear during wedding ceremonies and this can alter people’s behaviour. A couple who are warm and loving (or “touchy-feely” as my old mentor George used to say!) can “freeze” because of nerves. This can result in them looking stiff and uncomfortable, and there’s nothing I can do to change that – it’s just human nature. On this occasion, George was very relaxed! Tiffany, on the other hand was really nervous and it showed on her face as she walked down the aisle. George immediately reached out and grapsed Tiffany’s hand, cradling it in his own. In fact, looking back through the images of their ceremony, George never let go!
What makes this such a special image for me is that it’s about the detail. No faces, no expressions – just 3 hands entwined. Yet, there’s such great emotion and tenderness in this photograph – George reassuring his Bride by cradling her hand, protecting her. Images of love and tenderness don’t need to show faces. The physical interaction between couples, their body language, says so much. 🙂
