Black and White Challenge Day 4

Another favourite BW wedding image in the Black and White Challenge Day 4

The penultimate day (well, for me anyway) of this friendly little challenge going around Facebook between professional photographers. It’s to share a different BW image for each of 5 consecutive days. So thanks to my friend John Fox (who I met in Venice last year on the wedding workshop), here’s my submission for the Black and White Challenge Day 4.

Black and White Challenge Day 4

This image is from Niki and Duncan’s wedding in Hampshire. I always enjoy shooting the Bridal preparations – it’s such fun as the girls get ready, have a glass or two of bubbly and get all excited about the next few hours. Niki was ready and I’d stood on the stairs and taken a few photos of her by the front door. Her Bridesmaids were there, telling her how great she looked. I heard footsteps on the flagstones in the corridor from the kitchen. I turned and saw her Father, looking at his “little girl” as she prepared to start her new life with Duncan. I love this image because on one hand there are the girls all happy and giggly. On the other, there’s Dad, lost in his thoughts about how his Daughter’s grown up into a beautiful woman.

If you’d like to see some more of my work, pop over and take a look at my 2014 wedding photography highlights video.

So, tune in tomorrow for my final submission in the Black & White Challenge.
