Such a nifty title don’t you think – “Arcade Flowers Ringwood Fancy Floral Christmas“? Actually, it was the title of a little celebration last night, organised by my friends from …. yes, Arcade Flowers of Ringwood. Earlier in the year, Emma from Arcade organised an event at Framptons, showcasing their work and the stunning dresses of Frances Farmer (http://www.calmamongstthechaos.co.uk/). The evening was a resounding success, so Emma decided on a follow-up event, themed on Christmas.
The team from Arcade have worked tirelessly, and last night showed off a superb display of Christmas wreaths and floral displays. The showpiece however, is a huge conifer dress, draped over the canopies above Frampton’s front door. Lit with red Christmas lights it certainly looks the part as the sun goes down.
Here are just a few sneak peeks from last night’s event, you can see larger versions on my Facebook page.

On a technical note for photographers – the Nikon D750 This was the first outing for my new Nikon D750, supplementing (or probably replacing in time), my trusty D700s. I won’t go into boring technical descriptions about the camera, but on first impressions I like it. The light levels were fairly low in the bar, and although I could have shot without flash, the quality of light just wasn’t good enough. I wanted to retain the ambient light, so shot at ISO 6400. Exposure was usually around 100th at f5.6, with the Nikon SB-910 bounced at 1/32nd power. Focussing was extremely quick and accurate (much better than the D700 in low light) and I was really impressed. This camera’s certainly going to be getting a lot of use in my Winter weddings that are coming up in Dorset and Wiltshire and I’m looking forward to putting it though its paces over the forthcoming weeks. It looks like the Nikon D750 will indeed become a favourite of wedding photographers!
