Yesterday saw Teoni and Brad celebrate their second wedding anniversary. I’d intended to post this yesterday, but the wedding editing took over my day (and the evening). So here it is. One day late. A look back at their charming Hampshire countryside wedding. The day started gloomy and overcast. As I photographed Teoni and her Bridesmaids at the house, the heavens opened. We really did think that this was going to be a horrible day. But we were lucky. Just as the Bridal party arrived at the venue the rain stopped and the skies began to clear a little. As they exited the marquee the sun came out, and stayed. Perfect for a country wedding.
As I said, their ceremony was held in a marquee. Summer flowers decorated the pew ends. Delicate hankies were available for “tears of joy”. Teoni looked stunning as she walked down the aisle. Yes, there were tears of joy – plenty of them!
Afterwards the wedding party moved out onto the lawns. Family and friends mingled in the Summer sun. Friends took turns to sing – don’t worry, they were professionals, so it definitely wasn’t a case of bad karaoke performances! The reception marquee had a lovely country feel to it. Lots of delicate little touches that reflected their personalities and also charted their journey to this point. The start of their new life together.
The beautiful village was in the Test valley, renowned for its chalk streams and crystal clear waters. I took Teoni and Brad off for a short time, so they could actually be alone, to enjoy the moment away from being the centre of attention. I’d found the perfect spot for them – a little island, reached by a small footbridge. Ducks quacked and splashed. The birds sang. The soothing sounds of the water splashing. The prefect antidote to the hubbub of the wedding celebrations. Time to reflect. Time to take some simple, elegant portraits. To enjoy the moment.
Happy anniversary Teoni & Brad, hope that you had a wonderful day x
