Engagement photography in Dorset and Hampshire
Why have an engagement shoot?
Over the years I’ve lost count of the number of Brides (and Grooms) who’ve said “I hate having my photograph taken”. Don’t worry, I hate having mine taken, so I know exactly how you feel!
An engagement shoot (or wedding pre-shoot as it’s sometimes called) is an opportunity for you to start to relax when you’re in front of the camera. I don’t know how to break this to you gently, but …. on your wedding day you’ll be the centre of attention – there’s no getting away from it. Everyone wants a photo of you – your photographer, your family and all of your friends. At the end of the day you’ll be exhausted from all of the smiling you’ve been asked to do!
Spending a couple of hours with me before the big day has a couple of benefits –
- You’ll get used to being photographed, both together and also individually. Ill guide you and tell you how to stand so that you look your best. I’m not talking about “fashion” poses, but simple tips that make sure you look like a million dollars when you’re being photographed
- We get to know each other. If you’re relaxed and comfortable with your photographer you’ll get better pictures, believe me. You won’t worry about those “dreaded formals” and that means you’ll look happier, more relaxed (and better) in the photos
- Finally, we get to drink coffee and hopefully eat some cake!
If you’d like to know more about an engagement shoot in Dorset or Hampshire just get in touch and we can have a chat to see whether it’s right for you.
