Well, I guess I should wish you all a very Happy New Year, even if the weather’s not particularly been pleasant over recent weeks (courtesy of Storm Eleanor!).
I know that I say this EVERY January, but I really don’t know where the past year’s gone! Hardly had a chance to put pen to paper (well, fingers to keyboard anyway) and no Blog posts about the weddings that I’ve been photographing. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day when it comes to knuckling down and updating my social media feeds and my website. Still, this is the start of a determined effort to make amends for that …..
To start off with, I’ll post a few images from weddings over the past couple of years, because I have been REALLY bad when it comes to writing Blog posts!
If you’ve read my previous posts you’ll know that I’m not one for writing gushing prose about my Brides’ dresses or the details. I prefer to just give you a few details about the day and then to enjoy a few photographs. There may be a few posed shots, but most of them will be documentary-style images, because that’s what I do. My couples don’t hire me to create magazine images, heavily posed. No, they want photographs that reflect the day as it happens. So that’s what you’ll see over the next few weeks and months. If you like the posts, then check back regularly for updates. Who knows? If I’m really organised I may even post on a weekly basis (but I’m not making any promises on that!).
Rainy Day weddings
Bearing in mind the recent bad weather, here’s a shot from a couple of years ago where it absolutely lashed down for the entire period of the wedding reception. Debbie and Rob’s reception was held in a marquee, and it rained so hard that no-one could hear the speeches, but they didn’t let it spoil their day!
